Our cloud-based solutions enable healthcare providers to securely share patient data and enhance patient care. We are actively seeking a talented and skilled Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with solid experience working with virtual machines to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be a driving force in maintaining, optimizing, and scaling our cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on Kubernetes for container orchestration.

Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure Management:

  • Design, deploy, configure, and meticulously manage cloud infrastructure and virtual machines, specifically Kubernetes orchestration for containerized applications.
  • Collaborate closely with software development teams to solutions, ensuring scalability, high availability, and exceptional performance.
  • Implement and enforce fine-grained control over application deployment and networking across virtual machine clusters.

Infrastructure as Code and Automation:

  • Develop and maintain sophisticated infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions using tools like Terraform and Ansible, focusing on Kubernetes cluster provisioning and configuration.
  • Craft and manage Kubernetes clusters from the ground up including virtual machine setup and configuration, ensuring secure communication, load balancing, and efficient resource utilization.

Performance Tuning and Scaling:

  • Monitor, analyze, and fine-tune the performance of Kubernetes clusters and applications, proactively identifying optimization opportunities and implementing enhancements.
  • Apply advanced scaling strategies to adapt to fluctuating workloads and deliver consistent application responsiveness.

Robust Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:

  • Design and implement comprehensive disaster recovery and backup strategies tailored to Kubernetes-based applications, safeguarding data integrity and ensuring rapid recovery.
  • Regularly validate and update disaster recovery procedures to guarantee seamless restoration in the event of system failures.

Collaboration, Documentation, and Knowledge Sharing:

  • Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams, including developers, operations, and security experts, to achieve project objectives and ensure the successful deployment of applications.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation encompassing Kubernetes configurations, deployment procedures, and advanced practices for the enrichment of the team’s knowledge base.

Advanced Cloud Security and Compliance:

  • Apply advanced security paradigms to Kubernetes environments, including Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Network Policies, Pod Security Policies, and vulnerability management, to safeguard sensitive healthcare data.
  • Ensure full compliance with industry-specific regulations such as HIPAA, GDPR, and other pertinent standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proficiency in working with virtual machines coupled with hands-on mastery of Kubernetes cluster orchestration and management.
  • In-depth understanding of containerization concepts, microservices architecture, and related tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, etc.).
  • Familiarity with advanced monitoring, logging, and observability tools specifically tailored for Kubernetes environments (Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, etc.).
  • Advanced networking knowledge, including ingress controllers, service meshes (e.g., Istio), and load balancers within Kubernetes.
  • Outstanding problem-solving aptitude and the capacity to excel both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Relevance cloud and Kubernetes certifications (e.g., Certified Kubernetes Administrator, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) will be regarded favorably.
